I think this was my most resourceful weekend ever. Seriously! Poor Mr. Husband came down with that Bad Cold and has been ill for days. Plus it’s a holiday weekend, and no one is around, or very busy with holiday fun. Our weekend? Getting tax papers together (ARGH). This was Mr. Husband’s job, and he did it for an hour on Saturday then collapsed into bed. Sunday, he asked me for help, and I sat with him and filled out paperwork and sorted and filed for like 4 hours. Checking in on the progress /completion of posited Lenten activities: I had planned/vowed for 40 days to: * do a soup supper once a week, to donate our savings in dinner money to the Food Bank.* find a way to feed the hungry — directly, once a week — bring cookies, etc.* give up any personal spending.* do spiritual reading to improve my poor soul. Compacting and saving for the day — I took all of my odds and ends of gold and silver jewelry — the single earrings, broken chains, stuff from ancient-ex-boyfriends, etc, to the hock shop (aka Fort Knox) and got $20 for my gold and $18 for my silver.
